The headmaster of a Catholic school must have the knowledge to socialise with the entire school community (students, teachers, staff and parents) and offer quality education to students, thereby transforming them into new men for a new society. In order for this work to take place, it is important for the headmaster to offer a Catholic education where the sacraments are celebrated and lived, in particular the Eucharist, Confession and the Liturgy of the Church, while also respecting what is proper for a school institution, as required by civil law (legislation). According to the canonical norms in a Catholic school, the head teacher must collaborate with the entire school community and be close to the pastors of the Church, with the main objective being an ‘Official Formative Project and the guidelines of the school's educational mission’. Always respecting the freedom of conscience of each person through the school's Identity and also in the preparation of the Curriculum offered to our students. It is also the school headmaster's responsibility to promote and protect the bond with the entire Catholic community, which is realised through communion with the Church's hierarchy. It is imperative that teaching and education are founded on the principles of the Catholic faith and taught by teachers who are distinguished by their upright doctrine and probity of life . As well as providing ongoing training for their teachers, the headteacher must also monitor and intervene when necessary in the proposed content, with the aim of providing an excellent education. When we offer quality education, it is a form of charity, that is, based on the truth about man, the world and education. This is the path that will lead our students to their full fulfilment, and it is the path chosen by Colégio Católico Bento XVI.
